Short Story - "Positive"

Written by
Brenda tapped the thin plastic against the bottom of her locker. The sound of her own grinding teeth rattled through her head. Her mouth tasted metallic, and her hot breath slid across her tongue in a pant. She felt panic. The tell-tale click of high heels moved down the hall, closing in on her. She hid the slim plastic in her apron, checked her face in the mirror. Satisfied that…

NYC Flash Fiction - Round 1 - "Easy C"

Written by
Easy C "I'd like to use the libraries' Internet?" said Neva. Beady eyes stared down a long nose directly into Neva's soul. "We..." said the Old Library Crone, "do not have that here." "What?" said Neva, clutching papers to her chest, "This report is due tomorrow, my boyfriend's router is broken. Uuugh -- books can't help me." The room was musty, and webbed with time -- thick dust on the furniture and thick lichen on the walls.    His best friend looked down on him, palely lit by the last light of the day, shining in with sickly hue through the grimy window. His friend was a…

Who are Axe & Crom?

Savages. Titans. Beggars. Fools. Champions.

In the halcyon days of 2004, Axe was a lowly freelance artist, scraping by through a semi-lucrative business selling SheHulk-bikini sketches and Mona Lisa knock offs. The great endeavor of his youth, Calgary's first 3D studio, AurenyA, had shattered like the moon Praxis.

Unto this came Crom. Working as an IT peon for a heartless corporation, Crom spent his days locked in a lightless dungeon. From this twisted darkness, he sent out small pieces of writing; interviews with cartoons character, op-ed pieces to no particular publication, general madness.

But fate, it seemed, had a bolder plan. The two became one, and a new era was born.

Sailing forth on their flagship Intellectual Property, Panda Girls, the two began to hone their skill as writers, creators, and tacticians. Now they are mercenaries for hire; mighty penmanship, combined with mighty narrative skill. If you have a script, if no one else can help, and you need a rewrite, maybe you can hire...
